About Alice Shapiro

Alice Shapiro is a maker of emotionally intelligent, visually memorable work that fuses language and image. She is a mixed-media conceptual artist working in digital and spoken word formats exploring a minimal Surreal style.

STATEMENT
IAs a poet and visual artist I am drawn to distillation—turning observations and  journeys into condensed forms of meaning. My style borders on literal abstraction.

Including portraiture gives the work an edge that often is grotesque and is inspired by pre-Renaissance art. Mood is important to me as a vehicle to express visually what words may miss.

By sharing my work here and within the grey market, I hope to offer a glimpse into those discoveries—small revelations that others might find intriguing, resonant, or simply entertaining.
